Le ténor anglais Ian Bostridge et ses accompagnateurs - dont le chef d'orchestre Antonio Pappano, ici au piano - proposent une anthologie sur quatre siècles. Pour les « tubes », comme It was a lover and his lass (Comme il vous plaira) ou O Mistress mine (La Nuit des rois), plusieurs versions musicales confrontent diverses sensibilités et esthétiques.
